What would you do if you had one chance – a chance to make a difference, to make a change? Therein lies a moment of clarity found only from an awakening within. Would you make the most of this waking moment? This moment is, for all of us – Our Waking Hour
The concept of a movement was conceived nearly three years ago. Our Waking Hour came together to create music that would have a lasting effect on listener’s emotions. The band strives to write songs that deliver a positive message of hope. Blending modern rock/alternative with hard rock, Our Waking Hour’s music has been compared to bands such as Red, 30 Seconds to Mars, Evans Blue, Linkin Park and more. Despite the comparisons, Our Waking Hour retains a sound all their own.
Our Waking Hour hails from San Antonio Texas, a city known more for its metal/thrash metal scene than modern/alternative rock. To this challenge, the band came up with a different strategy for carving out their niche. A decision was made early on to finish a full length album before playing any shows. An EP would not do. Their diligence paid off with the release of the debut album titled ‘Seconds To Save Her’. The title alluding to a point at which one acts upon their waking moment to save ‘her’. ‘Her’ referencing ones own life or another.
The band recorded the album at AMH Studios, which is operated by Aaron Harvey, the band’s drummer. Aaron engineered and helped produce the album with the band’s guitarist Erik Seime. Throughout the recording process, Our Waking Hour released a few songs to social media sites – a move that proved to be effective at grabbing listener’s attention. ‘Seconds To Save Her’ was released on iTunes June 14th 2011 to anxious fans in the United States as well as over 14 other countries world wide Read more on Last.fm.
